March 12 Penang Malaysia

This is becoming common:  Old British buildings.  Check.  Oppressively hot and humid tropical environment.  Check.  Large shopping malls.  Check.  Just another outpost in the British Empire, you can almost taste the gin and tonic.

We chose to just wander around at this port.  Online research resulted in several self-guiding walking tours, so we more or less followed them.  And it was definitely hot and humid, with both numbers in the 90s.  And there was a giant mall that we stopped in just for the air-conditioning as much as anything else.  Lots of walking, lots of looking and lots of water both sweated and consumed.
