The Beginning 

This is the first test post on blogger.  We'll see how this goes.

This is one of my favorite pictures, taken by "Boomer" of the Raleigh News & Observer back in 2001, I think.  This is also a way to test adding a picture to a blog entry.

Potential travel blog

We are trying this out as a way to document our trip for the people back home.  We'll try it out on the Washington - Oregon - California trip this year as a prelude to the 180 Around The World Cruise coming up in Jan 2016.  Internet connectivity will be available, but probably at an intermittent or sketchy connection level on the ship.  That may limit the sizing of the pictures.
