April 6 evening Beijing
Dinner on our own tonight, so we walked about 1/3 mile down the street that the Regent was on and found the pedestrian mall with lots of shops and food places. Since we'd had our fill of Chinese food we first looked at Subway, but fresh was not one of the marketing phrases used by this store, so we settled for Mac's in the same mall. And desert from the DQ -- Oreo Blizzard seems to work in any language.
Further down the street were food stalls, selling the most god awful things. You could have snake, starfish, beetle, scorpion or spider if you chose the right stall. We skipped those delicacies and finished the Blizzard.
