April 23 Kuching Malaysia

Our last stop in Malaysia.  We first stopped in Malaysia on March 12 in Penang -- the country isn't that big, it just has two parts.  After a dockside reception we took the ship's shuttle bus to the waterfront in town.  Kuching is trying to attract industry and has an industrial zone out by the port.  They've built lots of buildings that remain empty but hopes are high.

Kuching has a waterfront promenade along the Sarawak River.  Lots of street art, almost always about cats.

Mechanics tool sets look the same everywhere.  Everybody has a big hammer right on top.

We went back to the boat for lunch
