May 9 Sydney Australia

We arrived in Sydney at the prime dock, on the circular quay right next to the bridge and across the quay from the Opera House.  And the Circular Quay is the transportation hub for the city.

Nice parking spot
We went out walking in the grey rainy day.  Ponchos were the uniform of the day.  Sydney is beautiful even on a grey day.

We walked through the Botanical Gardens and schoolchildren were about in force.  We loved their uniforms with the floppy hats.

Continued walking to Hyde Park and the CBD

Near the ANZAC memorial was this relatively new tribute to the fallen and standing soldiers of the wars
 ANZAC memorial
We took the subway back to the Circular Quay (great transportation in Sydney) and boarded the ferry to Manly.  This ferry ride crosses the harbor taking the same path that our ship used, but in daytime.

Opera House from the harbor
Manly Corso from the ferry wharf to the beach.  Lined with fast food and tshirt shops.  Reminded us of Fort Lauderdale and A1A.
 Manly Beach.  Not many sunbathers.

But there were surfers out in the water. Waves were maybe 6 feet.
Returning, there's the Opera House and Insignia
It began clearing right about sunset, setting up a really great hour of color.  This picture has not been modified except to resize it.  That's the color in the sky.

Ferries come in and out of the Circular Quay constantly.

Beautiful sunset shots ... we have an aft cabin on 2017, but we are not scheduled to dock at Circular Quay alas (sniff, sniff).

Beautiful pictures of Sydney! Some of them belonged on a postcard, especially those of the sunset above the Opera House. I'd love to visit Sydney one day, these pics are edging me closer to travelling haha. It just seems like such a peaceful and serene location. It'd be interesting for you to visit Manly Beach in peak time, heard it's packed!
