July 5 Dublin

Changeover day -- most people are leaving, and a new group is joining.  Always one of my favorite days, when they're leaving and I'm not.  Fortunately the local merchants had a shuttle bus operating so we could spend a few hours in town while the crew worked feverishly to reset the ship for new guests.

Interesting fact:  We were in Isle of Man on the 4th of July, US Independence Day.  July 5 was the same national holiday for Isle of Man.  We celebrated in Dublin.

Located right next to where the shuttle bus dropped us off, it was nice to know that our spiritual and wallet-emptying needs could be met so easily.
In Merion Square, a beached whale.  Perhaps originally a white whale, it now appears to be more of a pink whale.

 Monument to Oscar Wilde
following are pictures of things we liked, chimneys, bldg details, statues

We had lunch at the Old Mill restaurant at Temple Bar -- cottage pie -- then stopped for a dessert at Kilkenney cafeteria (very near the shuttle bus pickup point).  The eclair looks better than it tasted, but somehow it all got eaten. (nutella top)
