Jan 5 Almost time to go!

We're preparing for another trip around the world, once again on Oceania's Insignia.  We did this four years ago and had a great time.  Oceania changed the itinerary, so 2020 looked like a good chance to do it again.

You can go back to http://drdavebradley.blogspot.com/2015/12/dec-23-one-more-milestone-achieved.html to see the beginnings of that trip, and just keep going forward in time to follow that trip.  Or you can just enjoy this one with us.

Just before Christmas four pieces of luggage began the trip without us.  Hopefully, we'll rejoin them on Wednesday at the Port of Miami on board the ship.  Luggage Forward makes it very handy to ship suitcases ahead of time.

The planned 2020 ATW cruise differs from 2016 at the beginning and end, with the middle third just about the same.  This time we'll immediately go through the Panama Canal and after a brief stop in San Francicso to pick some more cruisers we'll go down the west coast of South America, then back up the east coast before heading to Africa and repeating our earlier trip.  At the end, we'll visit nine ports in Japan (only three in 2016) and keep going north to Russia and the Aleutians and south to San Francisco for the second time.  We'll get off there and fly home rather than repeat the SF to Miami leg.  180 days of cruising ahead!
