July 19 Return to Travel: Heading for Seattle

Hello again, after a long time not traveling.  We did take a Caribbean Cruise earlier this year, but there was nothing worth blogging about there. Now we're doing an Alaska/Canada trip that should be worth talking about.

We left Chapel Hill at 0dark30 on Wednesday morning -- thanks for the ride to the airport.  The flight to Seattle was long, but held some interest after we crossed the plains.

Not sure, but maybe this was Mt Rainier.

We had an e-ticket taxi ride from the airport to our hotel, Inn at the Market. Our driver was very good at flying down the Right Turn Only lanes until the last minute, then cutting over.  Google said the trip would take 40 minutes -- he did it in 25.

Inn at the Market is well located for a tourist in Seattle.  We've stayed here before and enjoyed it.  Step outside the hotel and here you are:

The crowds were wall to wall within the Public Market.  Lots of things to purchase, particularly fish.  The only thing we purchased, on Friday before boarding, was a bouquet of flowers.
We walked around to adjust to the new time and saw lots of street art, although we did nap to make up for the very short sleep the night before.
This was the view from our room at Inn at the Market.

Long day, more to come tomorrow.
