Feb 13  East London, South Africa

We're falling behind because we had 4 game days in a row, the last two spent away from the ship.  We're back on board now and trying to catch up.  We have some sea days coming up after so that should help.

In East London we chose the ship excursion to Mpongo Game Reserve.  If Addo was for elephants, Mpongo was for giraffes.

Even before getting in the 4x4s, there were hippos in the pond by the visitor center.

I'm impressed at how many north-bound shots you got of the animals. I thought it was a Bradley trademark to only get the, um, south-bound shots. :)
Great pics - looking forward to seeing more!

You're seeing about 15 out of 1000 pictures taken at the park. We have lots of south-bound pictures available also. But the game guides are very good at positioning the jeep. And the animals are habituated to the jeeps so they generally look up to see what's going on, then go back to what they were doing. You should notice a few of the pictures are of the "over the shoulder" variety where the southbound animal is looking north at us over their shoulder.
